Edoardo Baroni: a life dedicated to jazz guitar

On the occasion of the release of his new album By Heart, we had the opportunity to interview Edoardo Baroni, a talented jazz guitarist who shared his musical journey with us, from his beginnings with electric guitar to his latest productions.

The beginnings: metal and jazz

Edoardo started playing guitar at just eleven years old, learning under the guidance of Luciano Poli in Brescia. While his first love was metal, with bands like Iron Maiden, it was jazz that ultimately captured his heart. During his studies at the Brescia Conservatory, his mentor encouraged him to explore solo jazz guitar, a path that Edoardo embraced with passion and has since made his career.

Career and collaborations

Over the years, Edoardo has ventured into various musical paths: he played in a pop-rock band, dedicated himself to jazz, and worked as a session guitarist, collaborating with artists like Daniel Adomako, Italia's Got Talent winner. Despite these experiences, he chose to focus on his passion for jazz, producing original pieces and reinterpreting classic jazz standards.

The creative process

Edoardo describes his approach to composing as spontaneous. "Ideas for a song can come at any moment," he says. Sometimes, a melody comes to him while he’s away from his instrument, and he records it on his phone to remember it.

"I see the guitar as a small orchestra capable of blending melody and accompaniment, making it the central voice of his compositions" - Edoardo Baroni

Technology and music promotion

Today, he uses tools like Matchfy to promote his music on Spotify and other platforms.

"I want to avoid generic promotions that don’t yield meaningful results, especially for a musical genre like his" - Edoardo Baroni

Recent and upcoming projects

Edoardo has released four albums in four years, each with a unique identity. His latest project, titled "By Heart", has been released on December 13, 2025, under the Clockbeats label in collaboration with producer Dario Mollo. The album bridges jazz and classical music, even including two compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach.
